City Profile

Downtown Waterloo has enjoyed a revitalization in recent years, with an array of shopping and dining options lining King Street-which serves as the city’s main north-south thoroughfare. The campuses of the University of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier University sit a short distance to the north of downtown, on the other side of Waterloo Park. To the south, In the north, the Conestoga Mall serves as a major shopping destination, as well as hosting a museum. To the east and west of downtown and the university district lie peaceful neighborhoods of single-family homes, while the more central areas are seeing the development of condominiums and high-rise apartments.

Transportation in Waterloo

Grand River Transit provides local bus service throughout the city, as well as to numerous destinations throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo Region.
