Hugging the shore of Lake Ontario, Birch Cliff occupies a stretch of Toronto’s most scenic lakefront land.
Birch Cliff’s main thoroughfare is Kingston Road, which is lined with a variety of independent shops, restaurants and other local businesses. Branching off to the north and south are numerous quiet residential streets. Several of these streets run to the cliffs that has made the area so famous, and offer stunning views overlooking the lake. Several parks dot the neighborhood, with the most notable being the Rosetta McClain Gardens and Highview Park. Additionally, the Birchmount Community Centre is easily accessible from much of the surrounding area.
Transportation in Birch Cliff
The local thoroughfares of Kingston Road, Birchmount Road, Gerrard Street East and Warden Avenue are all served by frequent bus service. All routes offer connections to the subway at either Main Street, Victoria Park or Warden stations on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. Both Danforth GO and Scarborough GO stations are easily accessible from anywhere in Birch Cliff, and offer direct access to Downtown Toronto seven days a week-with travel time to Union Station being under 20 minutes. To the benefit of drivers, Kingston Road provides an easy path to Highway 401 and the eastern reaches of the GTA.
