The Forest Hill Condos: Project Specifications
Developers submitted their original proposal for 859 Eglinton Avenue West Condos in the summer of 2016. The initial plan called for a 16-storey building with a mixed-use profile including 350 residential units. A subsequent resubmission made slight changes to the community’s configuration, with current development applications listing a building height of 15 storeys and an expansion of the number of condominium suites to 350.
According to the most recent reports, The Forest Hill Condos will feature a breakdown of:
- One-bedroom suites
- Two-bedroom suites
- Three-bedroom suites
The building will include an eight-storey podium base and a stepped-back tower component ascending to 15 storeys. It will offer 11,496 square feet (1,068 square metres) of community amenities, with an even split between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Architectural renderings reveal that most suites will have private balconies or terraces. At street level, the project will also offer more than 10,000 square feet (929 square metres) of on-site retail services.
While the developers intend to brand the building as ideal for public transit accessibility, it will also feature a three-level underground parking garage with capacity for 242 vehicles. Patrons of the site’s retail services will have exclusive access to 38 street-level parking spots, while residents will have 276 bicycle parking spots at their disposal.
Several public realm improvements will also result from the development, including widened sidewalks and other pedestrian enhancements.
The building’s address is at the northwest corner of Eglinton Avenue and Bathurst Street in Toronto’s idyllic Forest Hill neighbourhood. Known as one of midtown’s most affluent districts, Forest Hill is quickly modernizing as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT nears completion. A broadened range of local businesses and services continue to enhance the area’s legacy upmarket character.
