Brooklin Towns: Development Info

Formerly an independent town, Brooklin is now a neighborhood of Whitby. Comprising much of the city’s urban development in the north, it also maintains aspects of its small-town feel:
- Historic Downtown Brooklin is clustered on Baldwin Street, and is both pedestrian-friendly and packed with small businesses.
- The Heber Down Conservation Area is just to the south.
- FreshCo, Metro, Wal-Mart and Real Canadian Superstore have locations nearby.
- Durham College and Ontario Tech University are a short drive or bus ride to the east.
Durham Region Transit provides local bus service throughout Brooklin, and offers connections to both the rest of Whitby and to numerous destinations throughout Durham Region. GO Transit operates express bus service along Highway 407, while the Whitby GO station is just minutes to the south. Finally, drivers can take advantage of Highway 407’s multiple entrances & exits in the community.
