CentreCourt Developments generated a lot of buzz in July 2019 with its new proposal for 8 Wellesley Street Condos, which was submitted after CentreCourt acquired the prominent site from a previous developer. The project’s bold new design was created by IBI Group, and analysts characterize it as a huge success that erases the concerns associated with earlier efforts. Insiders expect the development to proceed without further delay, opening up early ownership opportunities for investors and homebuyers in these new Yonge & Wellesley condos.

8 Wellesley Street Condos: Project Overview
CentreCourt’s redesign proposes a 55-storey, 599-unit high-rise, including a five-storey podium that will provide a modest amount of retail space. IBI Group’s beautiful, elegant design incorporates the façade of the heritage buildings currently occupying 8 Wellesley Street West, which will become the exterior of the new community’s welcome lobby.
Residents will also have access to a five-level underground garage with capacity for up to 106 vehicles and 542 bicycles. Additionally, 1,084 square metres of indoor amenity space and 704 square metres of outdoor amenity space will also be provided.
The redesigned tower includes many private balconies and terraces that were not part of the original proposal. Balconies now span the building’s entire south face, with additional terraces gracing multiple east- and west-facing floors.
These new downtown Toronto condos will occupy a well-positioned site at 8 Wellesley Street West, just beyond Yonge Street. Long overlooked as a hub for redevelopment, this corridor is now home to some of the city’s most interesting new high-density communities. Like many other recent projects in the neighbourhood, 8 Wellesley Street Condos will nod to the area’s past by preserving and integrating heritage elements. This trend has resulted in dramatically redefined streetscapes that still retain their historic appeal and accessibility.
The proposed building site enjoys a 100/100 Transit Score:
- The Wellesley TTC subway station is directly across the street from the building’s future front door
- Local buses along Wellesley supplement east-west streetcars on Carlton Street and College Street
- The intersection of Yonge and Bloor is within easy walking distance, giving subway passengers access to service in all four directions
Residents of 8 Wellesley Street Condos will also be directly connected to some of downtown Toronto’s most welcoming and vibrant areas, including:
Commuters who work in the heart of Toronto’s central business district will enjoy an easy daily journey, and a rich collection of local businesses will ensure residents’ day-to-day needs are met with ease. The 8 Wellesley Street West site enjoys a Walk Score of 99/100 and a Bike Score of 96/100, guaranteeing you’ll find it easy to get around whether you walk, ride your bike, or use transit.
8 Wellesley Street Condos Is Primed for Major Success
With a central location that’s insulated from the relentlessly frenetic pace of busier downtown areas, 8 Wellesley Street Condos is an ideal option for those who want to stay connected while enjoying a calm sense of solitude. CentreCourt’s new proposal has been warmly received, and these beautiful new downtown Toronto condos are soon to become a reality. Investors and buyers have been waiting for this opportunity, and now is the time to act if you’re interested.
