1875 Steeles Avenue West Condos: Development Info
Current plans call for 1875 Steeles Avenue West to consist of three condominium buildings, which will rise to heights of 39, 38 and 10 storeys, respectively. All three buildings will be connected by a 3-storey podium, and will together house a total of 814 condo units. Due to a high water table at the site, the complex’s 637 vehicular and 612 bicycle parking spots will be housed both in a 2-storey underground garage and three levels above ground (with an exterior design that will hide its presence). Public realm improvements (most notably a better pedestrian experience on Steeles and a connection to the existing muti-use trail along the West Don River) are also to be included as part of the project.
The 1875 Steeles Avenue West Condos sit just east of the intersection of Steeles Avenue and Dufferin Street, at the northern border of North York (and by extension Toronto itself). In addition to a number of retail options in the area, a host of leisure options and landmark destinations are also nearby:
- RioCan‘s Marketplace shopping centre sits right across Dufferin from the site, and boasts a wide array of shopping & dining options.
- Restaurants serving cuisines from all over the world can be found within walking distance.
- Big-box stores such as Home Depot, Superstore, Value Village and Bulk Barn all have locations in the vicinity.
- Metro, FreshCo and a long list of independent grocers are all located nearby.
- York University is a short distance to the west, and can be easily reached via car or public transit.
- The expansive G. Ross Lord Park is a short walk to the south.
- Trails along the West Don River run right past the site of 1875 Steeles, and run as far south as York Mills Road & north to Highway 7.
Frequent bus service is available along both Dufferin and Steeles, with buses on both offering connections to subway stations on Line 1 Yonge-University. York Region Transit also provides service in the area, with routes running north to destinations the municipality.
