Featuring lush streetscapes, easy access to transit and a peaceful living environment, Forest Hill continues to be highly sought-after as a residential locale.
For real estate purposes, Forest Hill is usually divided into the two smaller sub-districts of Forest Hill North and Forest Hill South, with Eglinton Avenue serving as the division between the two. Forest Hill South is centered on Spadina Road, and is also home to the Cedarvale Ravine. It is a predominately residential area, with a small pocket of shops and restaurants being located in its northeast corner along Eglinton Avenue. Forest Hill North is bisected by the Beltline Trail, which provides a convenient walking and biking route across Midtown Toronto and into the Don Valley. Like its neighbor to the south, it is also anchored by a commercial hub on Eglinton Avenue.
Transportation in Forest Hill
Frequent bus service is available on Bathurst Street, Spadina Road, Eglinton Avenue and Chaplin Crescent. In addition, The #512 St. Clair streetcar directly serves the southern portion of the neighborhood, while Eglinton West subway station on Line 1 Yonge-University is located in the northwest corner of Forest Hill. The neighborhood’s transit access will also be greatly improved by the opening of the Eglinton Crosstown in 2022. To the benefit of drivers, Allen Road is easily accessible, and provides a convenient path to Highway 401.
